Community Notice: Help Improve Broadband and Mobile Coverage in Wiltshire

Wiltshire Council has launched Wiltshire Council Digital Wiltshire, a new online platform designed to keep residents, businesses and communities informed about the rollout of gigabit capable broadband across the region, including Wiltshire North and South, South Gloucestershire and Swindon.
The platform also includes a simple mobile “not spot” reporting tool. This allows residents to report areas where mobile signal is poor or unavailable. Reporting these areas is very important as it helps identify gaps in coverage and supports future improvements to connectivity across our rural communities.
Better connectivity benefits our community in several ways:
• Emergency resilience – Reliable mobile and internet coverage helps ensure communication during emergencies and severe weather.
• Supporting vulnerable residents – Many older or isolated residents rely on digital services for healthcare access, staying in touch with family and receiving emergency alerts.
• Inclusive access – Helps ensure rural communities are not left behind in the digital age.
• Economic growth – Strong digital infrastructure supports local businesses and attracts new opportunities.
• Community empowerment – Residents can directly highlight connectivity issues and help improve local services.
If you know of areas locally where mobile signal is poor, please take a moment to report them using the Digital Wiltshire platform. Your input will help build a clearer picture of coverage gaps and support future investment.
